100 years of history

Clementina was the name of the noblewoman who owned this ancient palace. Everything started with her, at the end of the 19th century, to become, today, a residence of historical and artistic interest for the Ministry of cultural heritage and activities. In the 1950s, the palace was donated to the Sisters Adorers of the Blood of Christ. For sixty years it was first an orphanage and then an ecclesiastical institute. In 2011 the sisters left the palace: thus ended a cycle of history. After five years of abandonment, the palace returned to live in the dreams of a new owner. It was the time to restore the beauty of the palace: a new story was about to begin.

The restoration works

The restoration works started in 2018. The purpose was to restore the splendor of spaces, enhance the original shapes and bring out every adornment respecting history. It took a year of work to recover the ancient beauty and furnish the rooms with new comforts and technologies, to offer guests the charm of the past and the comfort of the future. The antique damaged floors were replaced by hand-decorated cementine tiles, made with the same techniques of the past, to give the spaces an incomparable retrò charm. Among the most complex interventions, the recovery of the frescoed wallpaper of a room. A meticulous cataloging, recovery and color integration work that has made this room one of the most evocative space of the charming residence.
